However, in recent years they have gained popularity due to a variety of reasons among them are the fact that more women now go out to work and so have less time to prepare food.

Advanced beverages include indigenous and non-indigenous. Generally, most advanced beverages are quite nutritious and nourish the body. Some of the advanced beverages use dairy products as a base in their preparation owing to the high nutritional content.

A well-set table adds to the enjoyment of the meal. For food to be appreciated and enjoyed the appetite must be stimulated before a meal. Therefore, food should be well cooked, and attractively presented. Food presentation is just as essential to the success of a dish as its taste and flavour.

Important aspects of appearance are colour, texture and surface. You might judge the appearance of food to see if it looks fresh, healthy or appetising.

Meal service simply refers to a service or process of giving or putting food on the table for guests to eat.

A good cook should be able to show mastery of skill in meal and beverage preparation through good choice of skilful dishes when planning meals for the family.
